Thomas K. Simpson
of Dallas, Pa.
Thomas K. Simpson, 80, of Dallas, Pa., formerly of Montrose, Pa., died Thursday, December 6, 2007, at his residence. Born August 5, 1927 in Ridley Park, Pa., he was the son of the late David A. and Edith (Wymer) Simpson. A graduate of Girard College and Drexel University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he was a Project Engineer at Campbell Soup retiring in 1985. He previously was employed by DeLong Hook & Eye, and Philco. He served in the Coast Guard in 1945. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Montrose, and the Church on the Bayou in Tarpon Springs, Fla. He enjoyed woodworking, building, and fine carpentry. For a number of years, he made the doll house, which was raffled off for the Montrose Library's Blueberry Festival. Additionally he enjoyed playing Bridge and creating stained glass. Devoted to his family, survivors include his wife, Barbara; daughters and son-in-law, Judy Simpson and Glenn Scott, New Milford, Pa., Wendy Brinson, Elkhart, Ind.; sons and daughters-in-law, David Simpson and Holly Klotz, Western Springs, Ill., Rich and Sue Simpson, Barrington, R.I.; seven grandchildren, Christie, Amy, David, Tyler, Peter, Jane, Andy; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and George Alexion, Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Ellis, Lima, Pa.
Services: Monday, 1:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Montrose, 71 Church Street, Montrose. Visitation: Monday, 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the church. Instead of flowers, please consider donations to: First Presbyterian Church of Montrose Memorial Fund, 71 Church Street, Montrose, Pa. 18801.
