William J. Holdsworth
of Vestal
William J. Holdsworth, 84, of Vestal, died Monday morning, October 12, 2009, at the Willow Point Nursing Home. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lauren Miller; his mother, Helen Holdsworth; a sister, Mary Holdsworth; and a brother, Louis Holdsworth. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Norma Clark Holdsworth, Vestal; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Michael Miller, Endicott, Elizabeth and David McKinley, Vestal; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Marcia Holdsworth, Apalachin; grandchildren, Lindsey Miller, Clark Holdsworth, Neil Holdsworth; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, John and Rita Clark, Gerald and Terry Clark, Mary and Raymond Murphy, Rita and Donald Perrault, Dolores and Robert Kahl; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Vestal, and retired proprietor of Holdsworth Auto Sales in Conklin and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. The family wishes to thank the staff of Willow Point Nursing Home for the care given to Bill.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, on Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.
