Alan Marker

MARKER, Alan A Sonoma Valley resident since 1962, Alan Marker passed away on Friday, August 16, 2002 at the age of 80. An Illinois native, Alan graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he and his classmate Nancy Hardy, were married in 1948. As a member of the Black Sheep 214 Squadron, Al was a highly decorated Marine Corps pilot in World War II; he continued his association with the Marine Corps Reserve until retired in 1982. Active for 30 years as a San Francisco businessman, he retired in 1978 as CEO of Marker/Associates, Inc., financial printers. Locally, Alan served on the 1981-82 and 1985 Grand Juries, Sonoma County Criminal Justice System Advisory Board, F.I.S.H. Steering Committee and volunteer Executive Director of the Sonoma Valley Family Center. Survived by his sons Andrew and Richard, daughter Jo Ann and four grandchildren. No services will be held.
