Bruna McKenna Obituary

McKENNA, Bruna Passed away February 18, 2002 at the Memorial Hospital of Burlington. She was 89. Born June 25, 1912 in Anchiano, Italy to Ubaldo and Adele (Guaspari) Buonaccorsi. Survived by her daughter Carol (Duane) Mischel of Waterford; sons Bert C. (Janice) McKenna Jr. of Arcadia, CA, Paul (Edell) McKenna of Davenport, IA; sister Yolanda Conte of Weed, CA; grandchildren Debra (Michael) Nitchals, Nancy (Claus) Agger-Nielsen, Karen (Mike) Cate, Brian (Jenny) Mischel, Laura (Randy) Kassel, Renee (Paul) Burleigh, Sarah McCarthy, Adele Mischel and Kelly (Glenn) Schouten, 16 great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Kate Peterson of Salt Lake City, UT. She is preceded in death by her husband Bert McKenna and 6 brothers and sisters. Bruna immigrated from Italy in 1922 to Santa Rosa where she spent her early life and was educated. Following her marriage she lived in Daly City, CA and moved to Chicago in 1952. She has been a Waterford resident since 1974. She was employed by Swift & Co. in San Francisco and later by Montgomery Ward Co. in Chicago until her retirment in 1972. Bruna attended St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Waterford. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 22, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. It will be officiated by Rev. Edwin Kornath. Burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in River Grove, Ill. on Saturday. Visitation on Friday from 6-7 p.m. in the church. Memorials suggested to St. Thomas Aquinas School. Arrangements by MEALY FUNERAL HOME, Waterford, WI.
