Carol Sartor Obituary

Carol Ann Beedie Scheel Sartor was a true fighter with the sweetest, most positive attitude. She was a shining light to all who shared her life and cared for her. In her final days, when told, "Mom, you're awesome," she smiled and replied, "Well, I gotta be."
She passed away on July 19, 2025, surrounded by family and love, with her trademark smile.
Born and raised in Windsor, Carol graduated from Healdsburg High School in 1957 and was proud to attend her 65th reunion. A longtime member of Windsor Community United Methodist Church, she was also active in 4-H, honored as a Sonoma County All Star in 1957, where she met her first husband, Jack Scheel, preceded in death.
Carol dedicated 40 years to her career in school administration, most at Wilson School in Petaluma, where she was known for her work ethic, kindness, and talent for organizing events filled with her famous cooking and beautiful flower arrangements.
She is survived by her daughters Jacie (Joe) Casteel and Kristen Scheel; her husband George "Duke" Sartor; her sister Marian (Mike) Mahr; step-children Debbie (Mike) Padia, George (Stella) Sartor, Pattie Sartor, and Muraya Sartor; grandchildren Nikole Wright, Brian (Laura) McLellan, and Erin (Eric Celio) McLellan; nieces Karen Rohyans, Kathie (David) Lanatti, and Julie Keeslar Vanty; She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Lillian Beedie.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., at Windsor Community United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Windsor Community United Methodist Church or the Windsor Historical Society.
