Christopher Nielsen Obituary
December 21, 1960 - March 24, 2025
Christopher Eric Nielsen, 64, passed away at home in Petaluma on March 24, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was raised in Novato before settling in Petaluma, where he built a life centered around family and hard work.
A devoted husband, father & grandfather Chris always put his family first. He enjoyed traveling in his RV, lending a helping hand to his kids whenever they needed him, and in the past year, he found a new passion for model trains.
Chris is survived by his wife, Rhonda, and his children, Desiree, CJ, Kevin, and Mike and his grandchildren Myla, Emi, Annie and Aiden. He is also survived by his sister, Carol. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ed.
Chris was a man of quiet strength, humor, and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten by those who were lucky enough to know him.

Chris was a good friend, and one of my favorite people from our class of '79 at Novato High School. He was a man of many, and varied, talents. An excellent mechanic (helped me change my U-joints in an old Pontiac), and a sous chef at a restaurant in Sausalito (Seven Seas, I think), while still in high school.
Was also one of the nicest, most even-tempered, guys I have ever met.
Have many great memories of Chris, including 3 years of auto shop together, double-dating at the senior prom, and his epic wedding reception at TJ's.
Probably only saw him about 10 times in the last 40 years, but every time he was still the same great guy I remembered from our youth, and I always had a
memorable time reminiscing about old times.
Proud to say Chris Nielsen was a friend of mine.

So sorry to hear of Chris' passing. I always enjoyed being around him when working as part of his and Rhonda's catering team and being their neighbor. His laugh, smile, and passion for cooking is what I remember the most. Sending so much love to you all during this time.
