Clyde Kiddoo Obituary

Clyde Howard "Jack" Kiddoo, Jr.
October 18, 1935 - April 17, 2025
Jack Kiddoo passed away peacefully in Surprise, AZ on April 17th with his family by his side. Jack was born and raised in Coffeyville, Kansas where he starred in football and basketball, making his high school hall of fame. His summers were spent fishing in Minnesota and practicing his basketball skills. Jack earned a sports scholarship to Kansas State University and played basketball for coach Tex Winter, with teammate Bob Boozer and against Wilt Chamberlain. Fun fact: while on a team flight back from a road game against the University of Houston, the airplane crashed into a muddy cornfield, luckily with no injuries. Only Jack can tell that story and make you laugh.
While in college Jack met the love of his life, Beverly Lou, and they married in 1956. Jack and Bev had many dear and lifelong friends from their fraternity and sorority days and they continued to make friends everywhere they went. After their tour in the Army (defending Seattle from enemies unknown), Jack joined Farmers Insurance Group and became an underwriter in Los Angeles. Jack and Bev moved to Santa Rosa in 1964 where they raised four mostly well-behaved children. Santa Rosa had a special place in their hearts and after one more move to another town, Jack became a successful Farmers Insurance Agent moving back to Santa Rosa with Beverly running his office. His clients were his friends.
Jack was very involved in his community, from president of Babe Ruth baseball and Pop Warner football to Montgomery High Booster Club and especially on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Rosa, while making friends all along the way.
In 1998, Jack retired and took a part time job at Kunde Winery to make new friends and in 2005, Jack and Bev moved to Surprise, Arizona and made many more friends, volunteering with their neighborhood watch group, starting the Monday Night martini club, driving others to their doctor appointments (on Tuesday) and working for the Kansas City Royals spring training complex. On a trip back to their granddaughter's wedding in 2014, Beverly passed away unexpectedly in Santa Rosa, two days after they danced together during the reception.
Jack Kiddoo was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Helen Kiddoo and sisters Sally and Sharon. Jack is survived by his children Steve, Rochelle, David and Robert (Patty), five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and best friends William "Bim" and Diane Braddock, and special friend Dixie.
A celebration of life will be held in Surprise, AZ on 10-18-2025. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Boys and Girls Club of your choice.

My husband Jim Owen was a brand new Agent in the Merced Region, later the Pleasanton Region. Jack was one of the first people to welcome him to Farmers and Santa Rosa. It was a little intimidating leaving everything we had known and starting a new adventure. Jack and Bev helped us over some of our hurdles and were great friends whom we looked up to as such successful people in Farmers. Jack introduced us to Bim and Diane at one of our first Topper/Life Championship events-another exceptional couple. I am sad to learn of Jack and Bev´s passing but so happy to know they were still dancing. Jim and I moved to Texas, with Farmers when Jim took a District Managers job here in 1994. Jack was one of the happiest, friendliest guys you could know and Bev was always so elegant. Prayers to the family - their memory will live forever in our hearts.

My family was blessed to know the Kiddoo family when they lived in Anothertown California. We were all a part of the "Farmers" .. fast, fair and friendly family. Jack was like no other. Big hearted and always smiling and laughing. Commanding the room like a Bob Hope or Johnny Carson. He treated everyone like a friend and an equal.. even us kids. It´s a big loss and I extend my condolences. Jack lived a big long happy life and brightened a lot of souls. Mitch of (Merced)
