Earlene Barker Obituary

Earlene Nancy Barker
September 1, 1930 - February 25, 2022
Earlene Nancy Barker was born on September 1st, 1930 in Christie, Oklahoma to Earl Smith and Threca Thomason.
Even though Earlene's education was just high school and Adult Education classes, she worked for one of the top Aerospace companies in the US, TRW Inc. for 20 years. She worked as a Classified Material Control Clerk Specialist on various projects, including Department of Defense work, during the time the Defense Satellites were being developed. She maintained all records for the libraries and worked with developers, to produce their classified documentation for delivery.
She retired in October, 1991 and moved to Santa Rosa alongside her husband Peter Barker to be closer to her children. It was there they joined the Early Ford V8 Club, RERG 27. In the car club they traveled the country in their '37 Ford Pickup. She was an active member in the club and hosted the monthly board meetings at their home.
Earlene's grandkids filled her life with joy and she was very proud to be a grandmother. Moving to Santa Rosa gave her the opportunity to be a full time grandma and make her beloved home a special place for everyone, where food was always laid out the moment you walked through the door. A very strong willed woman, she always supported her family in every endeavor. Earlene was full of spunk and giddyup and had a tough time sitting down. She was always working with her hands in the garden. She loved planning for birthdays, celebrations, any special occasion, and always made you feel special - making everyday feel like a holiday.
She attended The First Presbyterian Church of Santa Rosa.
Earlene was cared for at home by Sutter Hospice - (Sutter Care at Home) and wonderful caregivers during the time after she received her multiple cancer diagnosis. All the care she received was loving and active. She loved to joke with her caregivers and the RN, as well as friends and family, whenever they were at the house. She always had a quip that would leave us all laughing and smiling.
She leaves behind her son Michael (Carol) Maloy as well as seven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and many beloved extended family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on June 18, 1:00pm at First Presbyterian Church Church, Santa Rosa, 1550 Pacific Ave, SR 95404.
