Passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 14, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Francis was born on Feb. 6, 1945, in Malta. He came to the US 50 years ago with his beloved wife, Theresa. Along with his wife, Francis was the cherished father of Alison (David) Boyle, Maria Grima, Josephine Grima and Mark Grima. He was the devoted Nannu of Hunter, LeeAnn and Jagger. Francis was also a loving brother-in-law to John Rapa and uncle to Carol (Jeff) Lucia, Christine (Jeff) Pieper, George Pieper, Margaret Pieper, Vincent Lucia and Sophia Lucia, along with numerous extended family outside of California who he loved dearly. Francis is preceded in death by his sisters Carmen Attard, Tessie Campbell, Emily Rapa and his brother Joseph Grima.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 30th at 12:00 noon at St. James Catholic Church 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma, CA 94954 with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Petaluma. There will be a reception at St. James Catholic church immediately following the interment.

Frank always had a smile and a wave. I always saw him working on other properties in his neighborhood and I thought he owned them. Turns out, he was just being a good neighbor. That is awesome. I am so sorry to hear he is gone.

It was always my pleasure and a joy to see Francis and Theresa walking into St James. Francis’ smile will be missed. I will keep Francis and his entire family in my prayers. I’m sorry I will be out of town snd unable to attend his funeral service.

Theresa and family, I my deepest sympathy in the sudden loss of Francis. I will remember him at daily Mass. He was a devoted parishioner and wry kind man. He will be missed.
