Fred J. SILVA

Fred was born on February 18, 1923 and passed away on September 17, 2012 at the age of 89 in Santa Rosa. He was the devoted husband of the late Thelma Silva and beloved father of Leslie Hunziker (Matthew) and Jeff Silva (Julie) all of Santa Rosa. He was the cherished grandfather of Brian Hunziker, Lindsay Hunziker-Foskett, Jordan Silva and Jarrod Silva as well as the adored great-grandfather of Makayla Hunziker, Ashley Foskett and Brenden Foskett. A Sebastopol native, Fred graduated from Analy High School. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corp in 1941 and served in Santa Barbara, CA. In 1946, he married Thelma Tocchini, his wife of 56 years, who passed away in 2002. Fred worked early on in the HVAC industry and for many years at Sonoma State University. He enjoyed his work there and made many friends. He was a member of the SIRS Club, Autumn Leaves, and the Analy Tiger Men's Breakfast Group. The family gives a special thanks to Karrie Hanna and her staff at Hanna House. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service, Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY-Sebastopol, 301 S. Main St., Sebastopol.
