Gary William Sexton, 75, passed away on August 17, 2024 in Santa Rosa, CA. He was a beloved figure in his hometown of Ventura and in Santa Rosa, where he lived for 10 years. Throughout his life, he was involved in community service and volunteer work, committed to his faith, and a passionate sports enthusiast.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 21st at 10:30am at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park in Sebastopol, CA.

I met Gary when I joined the Santa Rosa Host Lions Club in 2013. He was our Lion Tamer and was responsible for setting up our room for the meetings which included so many things he would have had to get there 30 minutes before the meeting began. I also had the pleasure of working with him on many projects which he participated in like White Cane Day, (that was his favorite) eyeglass sorting for people who had no insurance and couldn´t afford eyeglasses, our annual pancake breakfast fundraiser
And a food booth at the annual Sonoma County Air Show and Vintage Airplane Museum .
He always had a smile and was one of the first members to welcome me the first thing when I walked through the door to join. Whenever there was a fundraiser or project for our club, Gary was the first to volunteer.
He had a big heart and a perfect example of what a true Lion is.
and... he also was a fan of my cranberry,oatmeal, chocolate chip,and macadamia nut cookies.
