Geoffrey passed away at his home in Santa Rosa on September 29, 2022, at the age of 96. He was born in Whitstable, England on December 22, 1925. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Barbara, of 30 years. His son Revell Newton (Debbie), stepdaughter Jolene Little (Darren), stepsons Jim Pierre (Shana), Rick Pierre (Janine), brother-in-law Joe Faria, seven grandchildren and one great grandson.
At the age of 17 and a half, he enlisted in the British Army and trained as a paratrooper, serving four years. For 93 years of his life, he was an avid sportsman. While in England he competed in rowing, hockey, running and cycling, winning many awards.
At the age of 27 he moved to Canada and worked in the Pulp Mill as an electrician. A few years later he decided to go to New Zealand. Having a great love of dogs, he took a side job training them for their police department.
In 1962 he came to the United States and settled in Marin County. There he started his own business as an electrician. He lived and worked there until 1992 and then settled in Sonoma County. He operated his own business for over 60 years.
He continued his love of cycling until the age of 93, winning many medals, which he was so proud of. Moving to Oakmont in 2010, he was active in the Oakmont Bocce Club, cycling, and other activities.
He will be missed by his wife, Barbara, his family and friends, and for always having a positive and caring attitude towards everyone. The family extends "special thanks" to the nurses and staff of Providence Memorial Hospice for their excellent support, care, and help.
