Gerald Marcinik Obituary

Gerald Edward Marcinik
February 6, 1944 - September 30, 2022
Surrounded by family, Gerald Edward Marcinik passed away peacefully on September 30, 2022, at the age of 78. Gerry was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, on February 6, 1944, to Frank and Mary Marcinik, and after serving in Vietnam with the US Army, moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he worked and retired from Varian Associates in Palo Alto, California. While living in Redwood City, Gerry met the love of his life, Barbara Jeanne Novi-Marcinik (Jeanne), who passed away in 2017.
While Gerry and Jeanne did not have children of their own, Gerry became part of Jeanne's family and together provided countless opportunities for family gatherings and vacations. As Jeanne's children grew, married and started families, Gerry assumed his grandfatherly role (affectionately "Dude") to Jeanne's grandchildren.
Gerry is survived by Jeanne's three children, Pamela Novi (George), Michael Novi (Sherry), and Theresa Thomas (Layne). Gerry's "grandchildren" (Michelle, Caitlin, Thomas, and Natalie), and "great granddaughter" (Brennan).
On the day of Gerry's passing, he was able to see his four-month-old great granddaughter Brennan, wrapped in a blanket knitted by his mother Mary, some 50 years ago.
