Hans Lawrence "Larry" Pilegaard
On April 16, 2022 at the age of 92, Lawrence passed away at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after a brief illness while surrounded by his family.
Lawrence was a life long resident of Sonoma County, born in Petaluma to Lillian and Jens Pilegaard on June 8th, 1929. He was raised along with his siblings in the small community of Bloomfield. He would later marry Theresa (Leal) and raise his family there. Lawrence retired from PG&E after forty years. Later in life he would marry Betty "Liz" and together they would spend their retirement years RVing and traveling around the country with various RV groups. Lawrence especially enjoyed his travels to Death Valley, classic cars, hunting, fishing, old westerns and family gatherings.
Lawrence is survived by daughter Victoria Ashley (Darel) Windsor; son Ken Pilegaard (Sue) Kila, MT; step-son Tom Clark (Debi) Wilbur, WA; brother Albert Pilegaard, Carmichael; four grandchildren: DeAnn Perkins (Darren) Belton, TX; Andrea Dusek, Petaluma; Kendrick Pilegaard, Santa Rosa; Carrie Taylor (Russ), Windsor. Lawrence was blessed with eight great-grand children; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Solvejg Pilegaard, wife Betty Pilegaard, and sister Elsie Garner.
The family would like to thank the ICU doctors and nurses at Santa Rosa Memorial for the exceptional care during Lawrence's illness. A Celebration of Life will be held June 26th (noon to 4 pm) at the Bloomfield Community Park with interment at the Bloomfield Cemetery.
