Ila Hemenway

Ila Louise Hemenway passed away on October 31, 2025, in Santa Rosa, California, at the age of 89. Born on July 30, 1936, she was the daughter of August Emil Treichler and Myrtle Ila Maupin and one of five siblings-Albert, Rosella, Jean, and Helen.

Ila shared 39 years of marriage with Donald Hemenway, and together they raised five children: Lisa Hemenway, Brit Hemenway, Kurt Hemenway, Lana Hemenway (Taylor), and Phillip Hemenway. Her family grew to include five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild who lovingly called her "Gram."

She began her professional life at Oroville Title Company in Oroville before becoming a real estate agent in Santa Rosa. Following her divorce, Ila moved to Sacramento where she worked for the Department of Emergency Services until retiring at age 73. In 2010, she returned to Santa Rosa to enjoy her retirement.

Ila found joy in music, reading, and spending time outdoors-interests that left a lasting impression on her children. She also had a fondness for golf and followed professional players closely, often recalling details about their games with remarkable clarity.

Her legacy lives on through the generations of family who continue to cherish her memory. May her life be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew her.
