Ila Hemenway

I loved her. We met at OES. We had some stellar times! After she retired and her family moved her to Santa Rosa I'd drive over to see her every other month or so. We'd have a wonderful visit/lunch. Covid destroyed my visits. Never made it back to visit...one of my biggest regrets. I'll miss you forever, my friend.

Ila was such a treasure to her entire CalOES family. She was such a bright light during the time she worked there, always the first person we saw when walking into the office each morning and always offering a smile and morning greeting. I shared a special bond since I was born and raised in Santa Rosa and our families shared many of the same connections. The outpouring of memories in the CalOES Alumni Facebook site after I posted her passing has been touching and heartwarming and a testament...
