James Joseph "Jim" SILVA

56, of Hereford, Oregon died December 1, 2013 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at the Unity Hall in Unity Oregon on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m with Pastor Gary Munger of the Burnt River Community Church officiating. Jim was born February 21, 1957 to Joseph and Carrie (Paoli) Silva in Petaluma, California. He graduated from Petaluma High School in 1975 On September 15, 1979 he married Linda Groble in the Pengrove Community Church in Pengrove, California. He worked as a truck driver delivering raw milk to processing plants, then worked for L & L Trucking hauling gravel and building materials. In 1978, Jim became the owner/operator of a cattle ranch in Petaluma. In 2001 he moved to Hereford, Oregon and found his dream house and ranch and began working for ODOT in 2003, first as a seasonal snowplow driver then went full time as a maintenance contractor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, camping, restoring old equipment, trucks and tractors. His favorite thing in life was to make people laugh. Jim is survived by his wife of 34 years Linda Silva, brother Mike and wife Roberta Silva of Malin,OR, sister June and her husband Bob Ghiggioli of Petaluma, Ca. brother-in-law Steve and his wife Lisa Groble of Ft. Collins, CO. and his mother-in-law and brother-in-law Carol and David of Coppeopolis, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Carrie Silva, his step-father Melvin Ilg and father-in-law Richard C. Groble Jr..
