Janet Tamba Obituary

Passed away peacefully in Sebastopol after a long battle with heart disease on September 16, 2010. Dearly beloved wife of Dan for 38 years; loving mother of Ryan (Robin), Matthew (Noelle), and Craig (Kerstin) Tamba all of Santa Rosa; loving daughter of Connie Norris and the late George Norris; adored grandmother of Caleb, Mackynzie and Hailey; dear sister of Joan Norris; and daughter in law of Peggy Tamba. Born in Woodbridge Suffolk, England and a lifelong resident of Santa Rosa, age 57 years. Many lives have been touched during the life of this very special woman. She was a friend to all and a mom to many. She and her sister Joni Norris grew up in Santa Rosa and were very active in the International Order of the Rainbow Girls. Jan worked in the children's department at Mervyn's for many years and later for the Exchange bank. She was very supportive of her boys, whether it was Boy Scouts, or baseball at Rincon Valley Little League, and was an avid soccer mom. She could always be seen on the sidelines of any game her boys or grandchildren were playing in. Her cheers of encouragement from the crowd will be missed. She enjoyed sewing, and crafting, but what she really loved was spending time with family. She will be greatly missed. Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of her Life at a drop in gathering on October 3, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Luther Burbank Art & Garden Center, 2050 Yulupa Ave, Santa Rosa. If desired donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 1400 N. Dutton Ave #20, Santa Rosa, CA 95401. DANIELS CHAPEL OF THE ROSES FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES 525-3730

Dear Dan and family,
I am so sad to hear of Jan's passing. I worked with her for years at Mervyn's and loved to go the craft fairs with her. She and I both have 3 boys, so the boys were always a part of our conversations. I know how happy her grandkids made her and and when I had seen her more recently she was so proud to tell me about them. My condolences to the Tamba & Norris families.

I'd like to extend my sincere condolences to Jan's family. Jan was a good friend throughout high school and I'd always run into her at Mervyn's when I came into town. Jan was such a sweet woman. I'm so glad I got to see her at the reunion and catch up. Her family meant everything to her. Jan will certainly be missed.
