Jerome Adamowicz Obituary
After a long battle with cancer,
Jerome "Jerry" Adamowicz took his last breath on January 9, 2022. Now, one could say he will be greatly missed and they would be correct. One could also say he will be remembered fondly. No argument there. Briefly stated -Where and when he was born? Illinois on June 8, 1947. What did he do in life? He rowed crew for San Diego State. He restored a 1966 Alfa Romeo. He helped so many people when he worked in restaurant management. His professional life was spent in hospitality and real estate. Greatest achievement? Thirty-two years of sobriety and one of the original members of the AA "The Third Step Meeting". Who is he survived by? Four sisters who love him dearly, four brothers-in-law who found him engaging, and three nieces and two nephews who reveled in his sense of humor. For his friends at AA, he offered such warm expressions of love, compassion, and strength with their sobriety. Additionally, Jerry leaves behind his extended AA family who loved and supported him throughout the years and until his last breath.
But those who knew him will also remember him as kind, thoughtful, respectful, and funnier than hell. No one who knew Jerry will ever forget his jokes, puns, one-liners, and witticisms that were always delivered on the droll side with a whimsical twist. He possessed a great sense of humor that was truly a mark of his keen intelligence. In truth, Jerry was anything but ordinary; he was extraordinary. He was a great son, brother, uncle, confidant and friend to four generations. He will be missed but lives on forever in the memories of those whose lives were enhanced by his presence. Now he knows what one of his favorite artists, Steve Winwood, sang about. He has now realized "a higher love".
