Jerry Lucas Obituary

LUCAS, Jerry Karl Passed away September 6, 2004 at home in Santa Rosa, CA. Husband of Dixie Lee Lucas of Santa Rosa; loving father of Gregory Lucas of Tucson, AZ and LaVonne Finley of Santa Rosa, CA; dear father-in-law of Ron Finley. A friend to many and will dearly be missed by all who knew him. He was an Automotive Equipment Operator the State of California at the Sonoma Developmental Center. He was a senior driver and dispatcher. He was devoted to his family and his career. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell a good story. He just fulfilled a life long dream of taking a cruise with his wife to Alaska this past June. He loved car races, animals, music and was a master at collecting anything he loved. Jerry was a native resident of Sonoma County for 63 years. Interment will be Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Cemetery. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on the same day at the Sonoma Developmental Center, 15000 Arnold Dr., Eldridge, in the Motor Pool Facility at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Orientation Center for the Blind, 400 Adam St., Albany, CA 94706. jerry will be missed by the cobleigh's and stewart's alike. we have so many memories of him and will not be forgotten. unforunately we haven't seen him much in the recent years but i hope he knew that we loved him. but we did see him within the last year and he looked great. i hope all is well to the lucas family with all the love that the cobleigh can give to you all. keep smiling and take care. call me if you need me or anything. take care. love the cobleigh's
