Joyce, we were so sorry to hear about Jimmie. We were unable to attend the service yesterday, but wanted you to know that you and your family were in our thoughts and prayers. We still remember the time you and Jimmie took to share with us his struggle with cancer and the advice he offered when dealing with this terrible illness.

Dear Joyce and Family, Jimmie will be greatly missed by me and also the staff and board of SCAYD (Sonoma County Adult and Youth Development). He always helped us out with whatever event we were putting on so children and their families in Rohnert Park and Cotati could receive counseling and other help. Not only sponsoring events, but doing Anything that needed to be done-and usually making magic happen! He quietly and continually gave of himself in this way to many organizations and individuals and families when they needed help over the 20 years I had the pleasure of knowing him. A truly amazing community supporter. From our hearts to yours, Cecelia Belle

Dear Joyce,
Please accept our condolences and sympathy in your loss. I always though of Jimmy as a friend, just not mine but many others as well.
I remember the most his wonderful generosity and his warm personality. We could always talk about how Cotati and Rohnert Park could work together. He will be missed.
I regret that I could not be present at the funeral but commitments overseas have pretty much kept me away from California. I would have enjoyed seeing you and his many other great friends again.
With all the best,
Lauren Wallace

Dear Joyce,
The news of Jimmie's passing is very sad, for I knew how hard he was trying to mend himself over the past few months.
Jimmie had the respect of so many and especially myself for the way he conducted his lifestyle. He was a man of his word and he knew exactly what he wanted.
Jimmie will be loved and respected for how people felt after being with him in business or pleasure. I will truly miss his sincerity and caring for others.

Joyce,
I am trully saddened by Jimmie's loss.
Jimmie was a man of his word and a man that could be trusted. His word was good. I truly believe that is all that needs to be said about a good man.
I was first introduced to Jimmie by another good friend, Bart Mitchell. Jimmie was aware I was looking to buy a home and consequently I bought his home on Alden Ave., with a handshake. I did not sign any official papers untill I was moved in and satisfied with the property. How many people would do that?
Joyce, you will be in our prayers. You have lost your best friend.

To my dear friend of 50 years--Jeff and I send our sincerest sympathy as we remember the many good times shared with you and Jimmy. He was such a good man and we were proud to have known him.
May you find peace in knowing he is in a better place, pain free and sitting high and strong on his horse roping a couple of stears.
We will do all we can to be at the memorial service. Please call me if I can do anything for you in the meantime.
May God give you the strenght you will need. Our Love Gail and Jeff

Joyce- There is little anyone can say at such a time... Some show little thought or compassion. We didn't always agree, on many things, but at no time was Jimmie anything but kind in dealing with me. He was always a gentleman and allowed for my positions on many matters. At times I was more than surprised by his willingness to offer help when it would yield him nothing in return. In my perspective Jimmie was a gentlemen that thought beyond himself; which is as fitting a tribute as any of us can warrant. A man who is remembered as a gentlemen, by those who might not agree with all he may represent; still remains a gentlemen.
Your loss far exceeds ours, but we all do have a loss; that will be felt for years. Once again I am not known for my lavish praise; but I cannot say in good faith that Jimmie was ever less than a gentlemen in my company. I am happy to praise that fact and remember him fondly. He helped a great many people of varying fortunes. Too many, did not have the the chance of shaking his hand, or sharing his smile, and grace. Peace be with you now and always. May you too, keep many fond memories of your gentle and happy man. Peace

Joyce,
Pam and I were saddened by the news that Jimmie had passed. Know that his love for you was always first in any discussion and, after dozens of years of marriage Jimmie still referred to you his “Bride”
Not enough people realize the influence that Jimmie had in turning the Rohnert family property into the place we proudly call home. Visitors need drive but a few blocks in to find a City Park, Community or Recreational Building, Swimming Pool or, Tennis Courts. All these things and much more were provided by builders only because Jimmie made sure that building a home required them build something as a gift to community that improved the quality of life.
All we can hope for in life is to know love and to be loved by others and, that we have left a positive mark behind. It is easy to find the legacy of good left by Jimmie; he was the best friend this community will ever know.

For as long as I can remember, Jimmie Rogers was an integral part of the town in which I grew up and later worked. In my 36 years of employment with the City, Jimmie was always considered a friend even by those whom he barely knew. If not for him, Rohnert Park would not be Rohnert Park. He will be missed.

Jimmie will be missed! I knew him in the early days of Rohnert Park when I owned a pizza parlor in the Manor Center and Jimmie was my landlord ! My wife worked for the Chamber of Commerce in the old Bart Mitchell Realty so we were in close contact for quite a while ! Jimmie was a true visionary with a love of Rohnert Park and most of all, a true gentleman!
