John F. Brown

BROWN, John F. Passed away at home in Petaluma, CA, May 30, 2003. Beloved husband for 60 years of Loise L. Brown. Adored father of Linda L. Martin and her husband, Michael of Petaluma, John F. Brown Jr. and his partner, Valerie Wong of Alameda, Patti Prichard and her husband Bob of Petaluma. Loving grandfather of Sean, Timothy and Thomas Newbold, John, Michael, Daniel and James Kreuzer, Jennie Hall-Brown, Ian and Sean Prichard, Kristi Percell and Adrienne Hawkins. Great grandfather of four. Beloved brother of Winifred Haag of Carmel, Robert C. Brown and his wife Ruth of Oakdale, late William G. Brown and Doris C. Neslund. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A native of Oakland, CA. Age 84 years. Mr. Brown, a well known Petaluma resident for the past 30 years, graduated from Oakland High School, attended U.C. Berkeley and graduated from the University of Philippines. A retired Lt. Colonel with the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Brown had a distinguished military career, receiving numerous medals and the Air Force Commendation. He was a prisoner of war in Zagen, Poland. Following his retirement, he worked for Crocker National Bank in Marin County and later in several local real estate offices in Petaluma. He was extremely proud of his involvement in the Woodacre Improvement Club and as coach for Little League and Pony League Valley Toews in Marin County. An avid sports fan, John was an original member of the Petaluma Coffee Cuppers and was a past president and life member of the Petaluma Host Lions Club. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service, Monday, June 2, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Magnolia Ave. & Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. Visitation at the mortuary will be on Sunday, June 1, 2003 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Interment will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park.
