John Roland Lee M.D.

John Lee Obituary

LEE, John Roland, M.D. (1929-2003) Passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 17, 2003 of a heart attack. Dr. Lee was known by millions of people as the doctor who pioneered the use of transdermal progesterone cream and bio-identical hormones, and who had the courage to stand up against the medical establishment’s dangerous and misguided HRT (hormone replacement therapy) treatments. He kept a full schedule, giving talks and teaching worldwide (he had recently returned from a speaking tour in Europe), writing his best-selling books and monthly newsletters. Dr. Lee’s friends and colleagues will carry on his legacy, as will the millions of others whose lives he touched over the years. We know that many of you will write, asking What can we do? The most meaningful way to remember John R. Lee, M.D. and carry on his work is to educate others, one-to-one, and give them the gift of optimal health, as he gave us. John is survived by his wife, Pat Lee; son, John M. Lee and wife Elizabeth; daughter, Kristen Lee Zeigler and husband Scott; grandchildren J. Aidan Lee, Samantha, Julia, Tabitha, Sabrina, Emma and Benjamin Zeigler; sister Barbara Meyer. He was preceded in death by his son Bruce L. Lee. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends, Bob and Dorothy Buckley; as well as many other friends in Minnesota, Sebastopol, and Mill Valley, where he practiced for 30 years. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at the Graton Community Club, Main and North Edison in Graton. His family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Progesterone Research Institute, 30520 Rancho California Rd. #107, PMB227, Temecula, CA 92591-3299. Arrangements by PLEASANT HILLS MEMORIAL PARK & MORTUARY, Sebastopol. CHEDA & LYONS 707-823-5042

I used to housesit for the Lee's. I remember on more than one occasion, Pat & John returning from some exotic far off place, while I was at their house. John always had the best stories to tell about their adventures.

Sometimes, he'd catch me out in their barn feeding their horses, cats, geese, chickens, etc....

He'd come out to get some chicken feed, and start telling more wonderful stories about their latest trips.

I learned alot out in that barn about places, different people and especially doctors.

I will miss running into John out there anymore. The barn, even with all the animals, will seem kind of quiet from now on.

What a huge loss to us who had so much respect for his teaching and wisdom! I have all his books and have subscribed to his newsletter since conception.
