John E. McCaffery
John Eric McCaffery, 60, passed away from natural causes on January 9, 2021 after being ill for some time. John was born on July 10, 1960 in Frankfurt, Germany to John P. "Mac" McCaffery and Renate "Denny" McCaffery (Thiel). The new family settled in Marin County after Mac's overseas tour in the Air Force ended, and that is where John's brother Kevin was born in 1962. The family moved to Petaluma and lived there for decades. John attended Petaluma schools.
John married Kim Wolfe in 1985 and of that marriage three fantastic children were born: Stephanie, Jim, and Katie. John worked for the US Postal service for many years. He also worked many years in the food service industry. Cooking was John's biggest passion and he was proud of his talent in feeding people. He had a huge passion for rock music too, especially the band AC/DC. He also enjoyed nature and camping at Bear Creek campground in Northern California.
His journey took him across the country, spending time with his brother Kevin in Indiana, as well as stops in Missouri and Florida. His last earthly journey landed him in Long Beach, California with his daughter Stephanie.
John is survived by his children Stephanie, Jim and Katie. He is also survived by his brother Kevin, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother in 1998 and his father in 2003.
