HUGHES, Judy Yep Judy Yep Hughes, 66, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 08, 2018. She courageously fought an 18 month battle with ovarian cancer. Judy is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gary Hughes; three children, Michael Hughes of Zhuhai, China; Shelby Hughes of San Francisco; and Tracy Hughes of Healdsburg, and her 7 month old grandson, Samuel Potter. Judy was born on June 13, 1951 in Oakdale, CA, the oldest daughter of eight children to the late Henry and Jean Yep. She attended Kerman High School where she was named valedictorian in 1969. Judy received her bachelor's degree from UC Irvine in 1973 and her MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management in 1975. In 1977, Judy and her husband established themselves in Healdsburg. Judy was a natural entrepreneur, successful businesswoman, active community supporter, and a world-class mom. She owned and operated several businesses in Sonoma County throughout the past forty years. Judy was known for her generosity, ambitious work ethic, quick wit, and ability to navigate complex situations. Judy's loyalty and devotion to her family and friends was one of her many strengths. Her enthusiasm for life and passion for cooking brought people together. Judy loved traveling the world, experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Oncology Department for all of the loving care Judy and those close to her received during the last few months. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, 2:00pm, at the Villa Chanticleer in Healdsburg.
