Our beloved mother, Julia Oceguera, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 7:30 a.m. in Santa Rosa, California with our sister Margarita at her side. Mother reached 100 years 6 months, almost 7. She led a good life and did a great job with her children.
Mother's quiet courage took us through struggle and sorrow. We held on tight, against every odd. With her love as our guide, we made it together with mother by our side. Her lessons remind us where we belong -- in a family of love. Her legacy is now recorded in a family song for the rest of us to keep. May she rest in peace in the heavens above. Julia will forever live in our hearts.
She is survived by sons Ramiro Oceguera, Jose, Gil/Eddie, Ismael and Odilon, as well as daughter Margarita Serrano. Her son Jorge passed away in 2024.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 in Santa Rosa, starting with a Rosary at 10:00 am at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave., followed by a Mass at St. Eugene's Cathedral, 2323 Montgomery Drive at noon and a committal at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
