Laperle D. PAMPANIN

1915 - 2016

PAMPANIN, Laperle D. (Cuneo) Born February 18, 1915, passed peacefully in her sleep on October 6, 2016. Devoted mother to Tom Cuneo (Joey Cuneo, wife), of Sebastopol and Santa Rosa. Loving grandmother to Tamarie Cuneo of Manhattan Beach CA and Claudine Cuneo-Garcia (Russell Garcia, husband) of Santa Rosa and great-grandmother to Manuel and Gabrielle Garcia. Loving aunt to Bob Cuneo (Gornice Cuneo, wife) of Santa Rosa. Laperle was born in Oakland, CA in 1915, daughter of Walter and Mary Katy (Clancy) Dorfell (deceased). She attended Holy Name High School and eventually moved to San Francisco and married the love of her life, Daniel Cuneo, who died in 1942. She worked for City/County of San Francisco Juvenile Court and raised her son Tom, until she remarried Chester V. Pampanin in 1955 (deceased 1965) and moved to Sebastopol, CA. where she and her son Tom, were embraced by the Pampanin family - Vincent her brother-in-law (deceased) and his wife Fran (deceased) and Vincent's second wife Barbara (McKee) Pampanin and was beloved aunt to Rita Pampanin of Occidental, CA and Alan Pampanin of Boston, MA. After Chester's death in 1965, she ran their ranch and worked for County of Sonoma until her retirement. She left Sebastopol in 2010 when she moved to Oakmont Gardens in Oakmont (Santa Rosa) , and subsequently to Kenwood Green in Kenwood, in June 2016. She was a devout Catholic, and strong, resilient and determined woman whose life was her family and home. Always interested in current events and could discuss politics until the end. She also couldn't turn down any stray dog or cat that walked on to her property and had many beloved pets during her lifetime. We gratefully thank and acknowledge the staff at Oakmont Gardens who provided Laperle's care until she moved to Kenwood Green. We also thank Mercedes and Julius and the staff at Kenwood Green for their loving care in her final months. Private burial at Druids Cemetery in Occidental, with Memorial Mass at Star of the Valley Church in Oakmont, Saturday, November 26th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
