Leslie Dixon Obituary

DIXON, Leslie C., 1st Sgt. United States Army Retired Passed away suddenly in Petaluma on April 29, 2002 at age 74. He was the beloved husband for 48 years of Sami Dixon. Loving father of Todd Dixon of Santa Rosa and Dani Dixon of Petaluma. Cherished grandfather of Dawn Phimister and Dustin Phimister both of Petaluma. Caring brother of Dale Dixon, Jim Dixon, Bonnie Nelson and Lois Carlson. Brother-in-law of Connie Montoya, Carolyn and Jack Strange, Myrna and Carl Bellovich, Joane Olson, Harvey Nelson and Jan Dixon. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Les was awarded the Bronze Star during his tour in Vietnam in 1966 and had a distinguished military career. He recently discovered wood carving as a new hobby but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday, May 9, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Petaluma Christian Church, 1160 Schuman Lane, Petaluma. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Petaluma Christian Church. Arrangements made by PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Magnolia Avenue and Keokuk Street, Petaluma, CA.

I worked with Les for several months at Hertz. He was one of my favorite people. He was always laughing and smiling. The world is going to be a little sadder place to be without him...

We will always have fond memories of Les giving hugs to everyone who entered Petaluma Christian Church. Our family will miss him very much and our love goes out to Sami and her family.
