Lola Fabiano Obituary

Lola Lee (LaRocca) Fabiano
Our dear mother, Lola Lee (LaRocca) Fabiano, passed away on October 6, 2025, in Santa Rosa. She was 82 years old. Lola was born in San Francisco to parents Luciano and Flora LaRocca and lived her early years in North Beach before her family moved to the Castro neighborhood.
Lola is survived by her children, Joe and Catherine; their spouses, Amanda and Miguel; her grandchildren, Alexandra and Alana; her brother, Ray; her sister-in-law, Dale; and her nephews, Jeff and Greg.
After graduating from Polytechnic High School in San Francisco in 1960, Lola's love of adventure and her Italian heritage led her to Rome, Italy, where she lived and worked for three years. The highlights of her time in Italy were working at the American Academy and the lifelong friendships she made.
After returning to San Francisco, Lola later moved to Sonoma County, where she worked in different offices for the State of California. Her time working with California State Parks formed a special part of her career, working at the area offices in Armstrong Redwoods and later in Duncans Mills.
During her time with Parks, Lola met her husband, Luigi Fabiano, whom she married in 1981. Luigi and Lola raised their two children, Joe and Catherine, in Santa Rosa and were parishioners of Saint Eugene's church. In 1996, Lola began the role of caregiver for her husband after he suffered a massive stroke. Lola's strength and selflessness characterized her as she provided for her family and cared for her husband.
After over 30 years working with the State of California, most recently for the workers' compensation appeals board office, Lola retired and spent her remaining years caring for her husband and enjoying time with her family and friends.
Lola was known for her warm and caring spirit, always opening her door to friends and family and spreading joy through the Italian meals she loved to prepare. Her happiness came from her devotion to her family, whom she loved.
Funeral services to honor Lola's life will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery on Monday, November 10th, at 1 pm.
