Lynne Harris Obituary

Dr. Lynne Harris
1945 - 2021
Lynne, age 75, of Santa Rosa, CA, passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2021, after a two-year battle with cancer. By her side were her family and friends. Lynne is survived by her husband Bruce Henson, daughter Christina Busse, stepdaughter Kelly Landaverde and her husband Jose, sister Ann Richardson, brothers Jim and Nick Harris, niece Elizabeth Merchant and nephew Nathaniel Merchant.
Lynne was born on October 23, 1945, in Palo Alto, CA. She was raised and schooled in San Francisco, having attended and graduated high school from the prestigious Hamlin's school. Lynne went on to receive her BA and doctorate in Psychology. She spent the majority of her working career with Kaiser Permanente in Vallejo and Santa Rosa, CA, retiring in 2000 after 25 years of service in the psychology department. She then went on to have a thriving private practice in Marin County, CA, and Santa Rosa, CA, until 2019, when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and closed her practice.
Lynne enjoyed traveling, especially to Italy, her favorite destination. She studied the Italian language, taking classes at the Vintage House in Sonoma, CA, and the Book Passage in Corte Madera, CA. She loved dogs, having raised six different Vizsla's over 40 years. She belonged to the east bay Vizsla Rescue Group where she enjoyed Sunday walks with other Vizsla owners and their dogs.
Lynne was such a gentle, kind, courageous and loving person. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, cared for her, and loved her. But we won't say goodbye because we know that we will once again meet sometime in the future.

I was a client of Lynn's from 2015-2017. What I loved about her was her humor, ease, and "down to earth" attitude. Her little rescue dog would often sit next to me and the sessions often felt like sitting around a dear friend's kitchen table. She helped me through a challenging time and I am shocked and saddened by her death.

A wonderful gifted clinician, a fabulous mentor, a good friend. Lynne was devoted to her daughter and her patients. She could cut through and get to the heart of things. I loved that about her. She felt so fortunate to find her husband Bruce - she loved him deeply and so appreciated the life they had together. So sad that her time with him was so short. Deep condolences Bruce - you were the best husband to Lynne - she always told me that and it gives me comfort to know you were there. I benefitted greatly from her mentor ship and friendship. I´ll be praying for safe passage for you Lynne
