Mark Herczog Obituary

Kevin, age 63, was welcomed into the arms of God on November 21, 2011. His beloved children Cameron McDowell (husband Steve and mother Barbara Melodia), Savannah and Houston (mother Marilyn Herczog), adored grandchildren Keaton and Harper, loving sisters Barbara Lynn and Annette, and much-loved aunts, cousins, niece and nephews will carry on, blessed by his gentle and loving spirit. Mark was a devoted father, a gifted musician, a loyal friend and a tender, compassionate man who offered experience, strength and hope to countless friends of Bill W. for 34 years. His endearing soul touched the lives of all who knew him, and his laughter, humor and warm presence will be dearly missed. Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10 at the Center for Spiritual Living with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Herczog Family Trust, account #7914586081 at Wells Fargo bank. Daniels Chapel of the Roses Funeral and Crematory Services 525-3730

We wrote your name in the sky,
but the wind blew it away.
We wrote your name in the sand,
but the waves washed it away.
We wrote your name in our hearts,
and forever it will stay.

We honor a life that was lived to the full. We honor a spirit, now free.
forever love, Georgeanne, Conor, and Patrick

Our deceased are never deceased to us, until we have forgotten them.
"I heard your voice in the wind today
And I turned to see your face;
The warmth of the wind caressed me
As I stood in place.
I felt your touch in the sun today
As its warmth filled the sky;
I closed my eyes for your embrace
And my spirit soared high.
I saw your eyes in the window pane
As I watched the falling rain,
It seemed as each raindrop fell
It quietly said your name.
I held you close in my heart today
It made me feel complete;
You may have died... but you are not gone
You will always be a part of me.
As long as the sun shines...
The wind blows...
The rain falls...
You will live on inside of me forever
For that is all my heart knows."

Mark was such a loving father. We used to joke about supporting each other's kids with their many school fundraisers through the years. He was such a warm and peaceful presence in the rooms. I will miss him.

Mark was a gentleman in the truest sense. Selfless, caring, loving and kind. His talent was immense. I'm so grateful for the time I had playing music with him. He was a great teacher, a gifted guitarist, a soulful singer and a man with great feel. You can't teach that, he just had it. My sincerest condolences to his family. He will be so sorely missed. My life is better for having had him in it. Love you Stanky.

Mark was a kind, gentle and talented soul-with a great sense of humor. I enjoyed talking about San Francisco with Mark and loved his stories about his sisters whom he dearly loved.
Mark's passing will leave a deep void in the recovery community. Rest Peacefully, Mark.

Never the spirit was born
The spirit shall cease to be never
Never was time it was not
End and beginnings are dreams
Birthless and deathless
And changeless remains
The spirit
Forever
Death has not touched it at all
Dead though the house of it seems

my forever love, Georgeanne
