Mark was such a loving father. We used to joke about supporting each other's kids with their many school fundraisers through the years. He was such a warm and peaceful presence in the rooms. I will miss him.

although I only met Mark for a brief time a few years ago,I could tell he was truly a peace loving man! Annette my dear friend and neighbor for the passed 8 years loved her bother more than any and will continue to in spirit. My deepest sympathy goes out to her and the entire Herczog family. Mark was a gentleman in the truest sense. Selfless, caring, loving and kind. His talent was immense. I'm so grateful for the time I had playing music with him. He was a great teacher, a gifted guitarist, a soulful singer and a man with great feel. You can't teach that, he just had it. My sincerest condolences to his family. He will be so sorely missed. My life is better for having had him in it. Love you Stanky.

My heart goes out to Mark's family and extended family.
Mark was a kind, gentle and talented soul-with a great sense of humor. I enjoyed talking about San Francisco with Mark and loved his stories about his sisters whom he dearly loved.
Mark's passing will leave a deep void in the recovery community. Rest Peacefully, Mark.

I haven't seen Mark in a while..but had just been thinking of what a kind and gentle soul he was....always with a warm smile and hug, like an old best friend.Now I am deeply saddened at his passing and that I will never see him again.His footprints will be in my life forever. There are no words that convey the sense of loss that I feel. Mark was a long time friend back to our days in San Francisco. He and the band played a couple of times in the 1990s at our New Years Eve party in Fort Mason. He was upbeat with a ready smile and I always felt good about each time we talked.

I loved Mark and sat next to him or across from him for the last nine years. A more gentle soul could not be found on the planet. I am sad for all of us knowing of his passing. I shall miss him and always carry a space, within my heart, for him.

My name is Sam. I got sober 8 years ago and 8 years ago I was petrafied of life and every time I crossed paths with Mark he always comforted me and offered his generosity and kindness. It was always a plessure to see him. He had a very warm gentle kind pressance to him. I will be forever greatful for his pressance in my life. I love you Mark.
