Mary GUERRANT Obituary

GUERRANT, Mary "Coleen" Born Los Angeles, CA July 6, 1954. Daughter of William and Margaret Adam; sister of Duane Adam, Eric Adam, and Mathew Adam (Rob); wife of Edward O. Guerrant, Jr.; mother of Scott Craine (Mai), Allen Craine, Edward O. Guerrant IV (Gina); step-mother of Sheri Guerrant Matsuda (Nic); grandmother of Gavin Matsuda, Cali Craine, and Kenny Craine. She attended Foothill Junior College and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She worked at various administrative jobs, her last with Landscapes Structures whose magnanimous owners were early supporters of her in her decades-long battle with cancer. Many others were to follow over the years. The doctors and nurses who cared for her like she was a family member, her church family at First Presbyterian Church which inspired her to grow in her faith, her bible study group that prayed and encouraged her, and especially Gail and Pres whose continual sacrifices, close friendship and spiritual support were instrumental in giving her the strength to continue fighting the battle day after day. She enjoyed decorating the house for Christmas with her trains, villages and unique tree ornaments given to her by family members over the years. She loved "camping" in their trailer, especially at Yosemite where she got engaged below Yosemite Falls, married in the little red Yosemite Chapel, and had her reception in the Mural Room at the Ahwahnee Hotel attended by family and close friends. Activities she loved the most were, riding bikes around Yosemite, fishing and canoeing on Lake Siskiyou, fly fishing on the McCloud River, cruising to Alaska with her friends, gardening, needlepoint, scrapbooking and especially cooking with the kids. She took full advantage of her pilot brother's United passes to fly to wherever the Navy sent her son, Eddie. Especially to San Diego and Hawaii where her treasured pastime was to walk on the "White Sandy Beaches of Hawaii". She made friends easily and was so blessed to have had so many over the years who loved her and encouraged her in their own way to stay strong. She will be missed by family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who was fortunate to have known her. Coleen's Celebration-of-Life memorial will be held on August 11th at First Presbyterian Church, 1550 Pacific Ave., Santa Rosa at 11:00 a.m. An interment will take place afterwards at Santa Rosa Memorial Park, Franklin Ave. at 3:00 p.m.
