Mary Varner Obituary
Mary Ann Elizabeth Varner passed away peacefully December 14, 2022, in her home in Petaluma, CA.
Mary Ann was born in Evanston, Illinois on September 11, 1938. She and her family moved to Northern California in 1942. She graduated from San Rafael High School in 1956 and was an active member of their alumni association. She worked at Our Lady of Loretto Parish for 20 plus years. She belonged to many organizations during her lifetime including Tri Gamma Sorority, Elks Lodge and Catholic Daughters. Mary Ann was an avid 49er fan. She is survived by her daughter Martha Panela, son John Varner (Lisa), son Tim Varner (Anne), eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, various other family members and many longtime friends. Her smile and ability to light up a room with her zest for life will be greatly missed. Her sense of humor and countless stories were second to none.
Friends and family are invited to a funeral mass at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Novato on Thursday January 19, 2023, at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes are for a donation to North Marin Community Services 680 Wilson Ave, Novato CA 94947.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mother. Mary Ann was one special lady. She was always so sweet and friendly. Remember going to a Giants game with her and some friends. Had a great time.
