Orvan M. Berry

BERRY, Orvan M. Born July 14, 1923, peacefully passed away at home on August 4, 2002 after a courageous nine month battle with brain cancer. He leaves behind his dearly beloved wife of 58 years, Ellen of Healdsburg; beloved sons David (wife Marsha), Healdsburg, Douglas (wife Elaine), Atlanta, Georgia, Tom (wife Brigette), Geyserville, and Patrick (wife Gayle), Santa Rosa; sister Beth Herrstrom of Oakland, CA and brother Loren Berry (wife Beatrice), Cazadero; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; special sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Ted Guildford of Santa Rosa; in-laws Eileen and Jack Byford, Margaret Beck, and Tom Loft of England; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. As a building contractor, Orvan developed Larkfield Estates and served as past president of the North Coast Builders Exchange. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Windsor Golf Club. In his retirement, he enjoyed his membership in the Healdsburg S.I.R.S. club. A private graveside service at Oak Mound Cemetery, Healdsburg, with a special memorial service to be held at the Mark West Neighborhood Church, 5901 Old Redwood Highway, Santa Rosa at 12 noon on August 9, 2002. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mark West Neighborhood Church Building Fund, 5901 Old Redwood Hwy., Santa Rosa, CA 95403 or Sutter Home Hospice, 1110 North Dutton Ave., Santa Rosa, CA 95401. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Eggen & Lance Mortuary, 1540 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa with visitation on August 8, 2002 between 12 noon and 8:00 p.m.
