1964 - 2017

HOGAN Patrick William June 2, 1964 - January 15, 2017 Patrick William Hogan died peacefully at home on January 15th, 2017, surrounded by family and friends. He was fiercely brave and maintained his hope and humor as he faced pancreatic cancer. He loved and was loved by many and will not be forgotten. Patrick was born and raised in Sebastopol. After attending college, with a major in architecture, he lived for a time in San Jose, and immersed himself in outreach work for "Stop AIDS San Jose". Later, he moved back to Sonoma County and became an active member of the Guerneville community, volunteering his time at West County Health Center, helping to establish and maintain the local farmer's market, lending his support to the Pegasus and Curtain Call theater companies, and often opening his home and heart to those in need. This January marked Patrick's 27th year of sobriety. He worked as an independent contractor, providing technical services for land development design. He was an avid reader, a fantastic cook and a generous host. Patrick was the son of Richard S. Hogan of Hogan-Schoch and Associates. He is survived by his husband, Henry "Jake" Hamlin, his mother, Gay Hogan, his daughter Claire Kell, his brother, Michael Hogan and his sisters Melinda Hogan and Suzanna Mayo, as well as numerous nephews and nieces, each one certain that he or she was Patrick's favorite. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Patrick's life at Jake and Patrick's home on Saturday, February 18th, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions to a charity of your choice are welcome.
