Patrick Steidl Obituary

STEIDL, Patrick Joseph Patrick left this world on January 18, 2005. Born on June 17, 1966 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Patrick grew up in North Dakota, Germany, Greece, Spain and Saudi Arabia before graduating from Casa Grande High School in 1984. Petaluma was his home. After graduating, Pat learned the plumbing trade and eventually started his own business. During the years Pat's quest for adventure led him to move to Montana and Utah. Pat enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. and world, meditation, yoga, sushi, his beloved dogs, Ariel and Lars, keeping up with world events, reading, independent movies, music and any adventure life brought his way. Patrick will be deeply missed by his parents Yvonne and Paul, his step-father Martin Mayer, his Grandmother, Theresa Morth, his brother Brian Steidl, his sisters Jean and Michelle Steidl, his Aunt Patty and Uncle Frank, Uncle Tom and Aunt Sue, Aunt Maggie and all his relatives, his friend Kristina Flanagan, and many good friends all over the U.S. and world. Because of Pat's love of animals, memorial contributions may be made to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, 5001 Angel Canyon Rd, Kanab UT 84741. Phone 435-644-2001 www.bestfriends.org

My dear nephew; you were like a younger brother to me; you were my friend, my confidant, my heart and soul. Today (January 18, 2025) marks 20 years since you went to Heaven. I wish I could hug you. I love yuou forever and always. (I will always remember how you loved the song, Swingin', by John Anderson - you especially loved the back-up singers part!)
This is my favorite photo of you and me.
We love you forever and always - until we meet again in Heaven.

Dear nephew, Pat, We miss you every single day, but especially in January, which is the time you left us. We love you always and forever. That you are with us is evident in the signs you send to us - the beauty of the sky, the music that happens to be played on the radio, the moments that take our breath away in joy. We miss having you physically here with us, but we know you are with us just the same. We will be so joyful when we see you again. We love you always and forever, Aunt Patty and Uncle Frank

Dear Nephew, Pat, you are forever and always in our hearts. We love you and miss you so very much. I think of you when I take my walks through the town you and I love so much, Petaluma. I think how wonderful it would be if you could be walking beside me in person; for I know you are there with me in the air around me, the song of the birds, the fresh scent of the morning air, the beauty of the sunrises and sunsets. You are with me always. We love you and miss you, dear Pat. Aunt Patty and Uncle Frank

Dear nephew, Pat. I think of you all the time. You are in my heart forever and always. Just the other day, Frank and I were talking about how you may have aged. This year on January 18th, it was 17 years since you left this earth and went to Heaven. We were wondering how you might look as an almost 56 year old. We both agreed that you would not have changed very much. You would still have your signature smile, your dashing good looks, your full head of hair, your sense of humor - you would have had more stories, that is for sure. I sure to miss your stories and how you could make me (and all of us) laugh. You were a bright light in our lives, dear Pat. We love you and miss you forever and always. Love, Aunt Patty and Uncle Frank

Dear Pat, I miss you always, but especially this time of the year - the time when you left us. You are forever in our hearts. There are so many times that I want to call you so we could talk for a long time like we used to do. There are so many times that I want to see you and hug you and share observations with you. We love you and miss you forever, dear nephew. I know, too, that you are in Heaven with Grandma and Grandpa and all our loved ones. Aunt Patty and Uncle Frank

On June 17, 2020 we honored you on your 54th Birthday. We wondered what 54 would look like for you. You would still be full of energy and love, still making us laugh with your stories, still gracing us with your smile that lit up our lives. I miss you every day, my dear nephew. I love you always and forever. Your Aunt Patty and Uncle Frank

You've missed so much since you left. I still want to turn to you to tell you what's going on. I went and saw Eckhart Tolle speak at the Marin Center last month and wished you were sitting next to me. You are the reason I was there! He talked about living in the present...and I sat and thought about the past. You still inspire me! I wish you could meet my son Kristian. But I know you're up there helping me guide him and helping make the world a more peaceful place for him. I miss you lots.

Not a day goes by that I dont think of you and your corny sayings...ie "LATE!...." or one of the many others you have, er, had. You still reside in my china cabinet. I can't bring myself to scatter your ashes across my property just in case - I want you near to me no matter where I go.
I love you, Big Brother!

Hi Pat,
I have been thinking of you each and every day - always. Today Michelle submitted an entry into your guest book and I read it and the other entries once again. It's been almost 2 and a half years since you left us. You would have been 41 on June 17th of this year. I mark every day thinking of you. Alex was here with Angela this weekend - we went to church and lit a candle for you. We love you,
Aunt Patty and Uncle Frank

Hey Pat - it's the holiday season and your on my mind even more-so lately. I'm still kicking myself because our communication was limited, and I could have done something about it but didn't. Hell, I can't even recall the last time I heard your voice! BUT - I do have fond memories, and some are really quite comical - like that softball game fiasco when I threw the ball at your face or when you told me to sit in the wheelchair in Heathrow's airport so you could wheel me around. Everyone smiled at us nicely, until you abandoned me near some gate and I was "miraculously healed" and had to run to catch up to you. The ones that smiled glared when we ran by laughing.

Anyway - I think about you often. Your niece Sabrina will get to look at lots of pictures of you and when she gets older, she has a pair of your sunglasses.

I hope you, Lars and Ariel are together and at peace.

I love you Pat & I miss you.

Dear Pat,

I think about you so very much and I miss you. I hear you laughing and telling stories just like you used to when you were with us. Susan, Mark, Frank and I celebrated your Birthday on June 17th. We remebmered you with love.

Another Birthday occurred on July 13, 2005. Your little niece, Sabrina Elizabeth Steidl/Schlessinger was born that day! She is absolutely beautiful! I can imagine you holding her and being the very best uncle to her, loving her with all your heart and soul. I know she will carry on your spirit, Pat. I think of you very very often each and every day. I love you. Your Aunt Patty and Uncle Frank

Good-bye, Patrick,

We saw far too little of one another, and now we will wait a little while until the next time - in a better, happier place. You brought much joy into this world.

Pat's life was full of energy. He was extremely intelligent, witty, well-read, sensitive and talented - every room he entered was brightly lit by his personality. He appreciated art, music and history of all types. He loved to laugh and loved a good joke - and told many. Pat was a kind and loving: son, grandson, brother and brother-in-law,nephew, uncle, cousin and FRIEND. Pat touched us all with his life and left us with good memories of quality time spent with him. I am Pat's Aunt, Patty. I miss him greatly, but keep him in my heart always. I love you, Pat

I was lucky enough to spend 5.5 years with Pat and our dogs. I was also lucky enough to experiece the move to Montana with him. What an adventure will never forget. The weekend hiking in Glacier National Park, the tubing down the river from our own backyard, and the first fish I cought. For anyone who knew Pat, knew him to be very adventureous, extremely intelligent, and a funny person. He could fix anything. There is so much more I could say but that I hold close to my heart. I would like to say that the Steidl Family has been like a second family to me and I know they know it. I love you all.... Pat we always called eachother our bestfrieds, even though we ended up going our seperate ways, you will always be a bestfriend. I never forgot you and I never will. Love you always, debi

We'll miss you, Pat. Love, Jean
