Phyllis Cyb Obituary
August 9, 1920 - December 31, 2020
Phyllis Cyb, 100, of Santa Rosa, CA, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on December 31st, 2020. Phyllis was born to Paul Victor and Lillie Irene Lindell in Eureka, CA. She had a brother, Leland Irwin Lindell. After graduating H.S., they moved to Rio Nido. Phyllis attended S.R. Beauty College. It was at a dance in Rio Nido that she met her future husband John Cyb. They married and moved to Detroit, Michigan. During their five year marriage, they had two children, Jim and Janice.
After returning to CA, Phyllis worked as a beautician and was the owner of the Uptown Beauty Salon. She owned her own home. She learned to drive at age 46. She was a very talented artist, avid reader and seamstress. She especially loved her family and pets. Honest, resourceful, great sense of humor, kind, generous, not a worrier, always happy!
Phyllis was predeceased by son Jim Cyb and is survived by daughter Janice Brown (Randy), granddaughters Donna Abbott (Todd), Kristi Ebner (Andrew), Cherene Waltert (Bruce) and grandsons John Cyb, Jim Cyb (Teresa), Brendan Brown (Melissa) and great-grandchildren Haley, Emily, Kylee, Alayna, Jake, Jillian, Adam, Ryann, Ethan, Nate, Chase and Jacob.

It was such an honor and privilege to care for Mrs. Phyllis! She stole my heart from the get go. She told me she would adopt me. Despite her physical limitations, she always had a positive outlook and a smile on her face. Her face full of kindness and her voice comforting. My heart and prayers go out to her family. I'm so thankful to have met her.
