Richard CORDOVA Obituary

Richard was born July 7, 1927 in Gallup, NM, the son of Jose Ramon and Maria Placida (Silva) Cordova. He passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at his residence in Mancos, CO at the age of 85. Richard served his country with the United States Marine Corp during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. He belonged to the V.F.W. Marine Corp Officers Association and the Knights of Columbus. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed hunting elk. Surviving Richard are his wife, Lena (Gill) Cordova of Mancos; his children, Debbie Myers and husband Jack of Wilton, CA, Mark Cordova and wife Joanne of Wildomar, CA, Denise Davis of Cotati, CA, Valerie Roberts and husband Dash of Simpsonville, KY, and Monique Fazenbaker of Benicia, CA; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and by his brother Raynell Cordova and wife Inga of Colorado Springs, CO. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and by his first wife, Melane Marie Cordova. A Funeral Mass for Richard Cordova will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at St. Eugene's Cathedral, 2323 Montgomery Dr., Santa Rosa. Interment with military honors will take place at Santa Rosa Memorial Park. Visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa.
