Robert Arthur "Bob" Forsblad

FORSBLAD, Robert Arthur "Bob" - Passed away in Santa Rosa on May 30, 2008 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Doris, who passed away on March 6, 2007. Loving father of David Forsblad, Kristina Forsblad, Larry Forsblad and John Forsblad; adored grandfather of Kristen Sequoia, Cindy Forsblad, Sorin Klares and Emil Forsblad; dear great-grandfather of Emma Klares and Robbie Breitbarth. Bob was born in Los Angeles, CA on January 28, 1919. In 1921, his family moved to Fresno where he attended grammar school, high school and college. He was a graduate of Fresno High School class of 1937, where he played football. He continued playing football through his freshman year at Fresno State College, and received his degree in 1941. On May 6, 1941 he married Doris Hess. From 1943 - 1946 Bob served his country proudly as a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy during World War II, in the Marianna Islands and Japan. He was discharged from the active Naval reserves in 1952. In 1947, he started what would become a 37 year career with State Farm Insurance, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Santa Rosa Luther Burbank Lodge No. 57, F.&A.M. and Santa Rosa Scottish Rite Bodies. Bob resided in Bennett Valley, in Santa Rosa, since 1963.
