25 years ago - I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Roger was such a positive, caring person - as well as Linda - it was easy to entrust him thru my cancer journey. I'm living proof of his surgical skills. Forever thankful Linda let him work on December 27, 1999 - their wedding anniversary and my surgery date - an anniversary date for me as well.
TO LINDA - I hope time has helped with healing. I will always think of you and Roger on the 27th. I wish you and your family well and thank you from my heart.

Roger was an amazing person and practioneer. I was a friend of Linda´s and a nursing student. He wrapped me under his wing and allowed me to follow him on a days journey as a doctor. I´m forever grateful for his kindness and love of humanity

I am forever grateful for having had Roger and Linda in my life. As one of his patients, I felt it was a privilege to "roast" him at his retirement party. He commented that he had wanted to be a small-town surgeon so he could walk down main street and see someone that he had helped. I am so lucky that I am one of those people.
May he rest in peace.

Just did some checking on his Letters history in the PD. Sadly his last letter was published in the Letters to the Editor on Sept. 13th, two days after he died. It was about high performance cars. Too bad he wasn't here to respond to readers of his letter. Rest well with the LORD, Dr. Delgardo. You are already missed.

If this is the writer of many great Letters to the Editor in the Press Democrat, I will definitely miss his insight and timely well-thought out opinions. Didn't know he was such a renowned and beloved surgeon. May God bless his family and friends as they cope with this tremendous loss. Sincerely, Judith, (an avid reader of the Press Democrat, especially the Letters section.(

Linda, Jessica and Nathan,
Our deep love and prayers are with each of you as we learn that Roger has gained his angel wings. There are no words to describe the positive impact Roger had on my career as a tremendous friend and a guiding mentor. I am forever grateful to have been on the Sweeney Delgado team as John and Roger cared for patient's in urgent need all over Sonoma County for years. Roger's compassionate caring and surgical expertise helped our family, and so many others who felt he "walked on water". Roger's love for you Linda, his family, and the Sebastapol community was unfounded...not to mention his love for Corvettes! We hold so many special memories of Roger's generosity and his greatness in our hearts. May you find peace each day as you remember his great smile and his passionate presence. Blessings!

My deepest condolences to the Delgado Family and friends. Many years ago I worked at Palm Drive medical records and became acquainted with Dr. Delgado and his partner Dr. Sweeney. I remember Dr. Delgado's smile and that he was known as an "excellent" surgeon. As a Christian woman it was comforting to read he had "deep unshakable faith". The Lord will see you through.

We are so lucky to have worked with this hardworking, kind, deep voiced surgeon for oh, so many years. Very sick patients survived because of the skill he had. Sebastopol was blessed to have had him and Dr. Sweeney.

Oh so many memories flood my mind.... Dr Delgado & Dr Sweeney worked like a well oiled machine... I learned so much from both!
I would compliment him with, "your wife is beautiful", he always said, "and she is smart".
An amazing, caring, giving mentor.

Linda, my heartfelt sympathies are with you. Roger was a wonderful part of my career at Palm Drive Hospital. As you know, he was dearly loved and admired by all of us. We did not always agree (less than 1% of the time) but I always felt safe disagreeing with him and looking forward to his smile in spite of that. Such a wonderful man in so very many respects. I'm sure you feel an enormous loss. Much love to you and your family. Linda Eastman
