Ronald Fossell Obituary

Ronald Steven Fossell
September 22, 1947 - August 31, 2025
Ronald Steven Fossell, a beloved husband, brother, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on September 22, 1947, in Petaluma, California, to Laurinda Florence Medeiros and Eugene Stanley Fossell.
After proudly serving four years in the Navy, Ron embarked on a fulfilling career in the trucking industry. He began his journey with ConRoc in Los Angeles, where he honed his skills driving concrete mixers and bottom dumps. Later, he moved to Northern California, earned his Cal T license, and engaged in a diverse range of transportation work, including hauling fruits, vegetables, and logs.
Ron found his niche in the trucking business by transporting sand from Dillon Beach, specifically from Lawson's Landing, to local dairies and golf courses. His passion for trucking led him to settle in Sebastopol, California, where he parked his big rig every night and operated Whispering Pines Pet Cemetery and Cremations for 40 years.
A fighter at heart, Ron successfully battled laryngeal cancer and enjoyed 28 years of being cancer-free before ultimately succumbing to lung cancer. He approached life with a loving spirit and unwavering kindness. Known for his great sense of humor, Ron cherished being around people, participating in family gatherings, and enjoying life's simple pleasures. He had a deep love for music, particularly Bob Seger, and cherished nostalgic moments from his favorite film, "Smokey and the Bandit."
Ron is survived by his father, Eugene Fossell, and his partner, Corinne Nyhan; his wife, Wanda Fossell; his sister, Genie King; his brothers, Cary Sanford and Kin Sanford; his daughter, Amy Fossell; and his grandchildren: Jamie Fuesz, Jonathan McNamee and his wife, Courtney McNamee, Andrew Fossell, Ronald Eugene Fossell Jr., and his stepchildren, Daniel Bourdon and Christopher Bourdon. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Walker, and Brody McNamee, along with his loyal Beagle, Minnie, and his terrier, Sandy.
Ron Steven Fossell will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, humor, strength, and bright smile will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
Services will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025. For more information, please call or text Amy Fossell at 707-623-5385.

Yesterday

Ron you are truly a great person. Your sole will shine no matter where you travel to next. In the eight years I have had to honor of knowing you I can't think of one think you did that wasn't trying to help another person out. You will always be a beacon of light any where your sole goes. Hope to see you again.
