Sandra Mary LIPITZ

LIPITZ, Sandra Mary Passed away Monday evening, September 28, 2015, at the age of fifty-six years old due to a short battle with cancer. Sandra is survived by her husband, Tom; her two daughters, Adina and Rachel; her mother, Shirley; stepfather, John; and her three siblings, Rose, David, and Teresa. Sandra was born on September 22nd, 1959 in Rangoon, Burma. She and her family immigrated to the United States in the early sixties. From early life she was always energetic, fun loving and incomparably caring. She was very athletic and passionate about fitness. She was a member of the San Francisco State University Women's varsity tennis team and enjoyed a myriad of other activities such as dancing, hiking, biking, and power walking her beloved dog, Stormy. Sandra was a highly intelligent and determined woman. She graduated from Cappuccino High School in 1977 and went on to earn her Bachelor's of Science degree in Accounting from San Francisco State University in 1981. She continued to progress, earning her Master's degree in Business Administration from The College of Notre Dame in 1987. Sandra began her career with the City of Rohnert Park in 1990. She worked as an accountant in the finance department until June 2000, when she was promoted to Director of Administrative Services. During this time, Sandra managed her full time job, raising two children and keeping a good home. She retired in 2012 at the age of fifty-three. In the years since her retirement, Sandra utilized the time to do all of the things her job permitted her from doing. She was able to travel all over the country, enjoy the great outdoors, embrace spontaneity and ultimately find the love of her life. All in all, Sandra had a heart of pure gold and an unmatchable spirit. She lived, laughed and loved to the fullest. She was an inspiration, a fighter who fought until the very end. She was a wonderful mother and spouse, was greatly cherished by her family and friends and will be terribly missed. She may be gone, but never, ever forgotten. Sandra's service will be held on Sunday, October 11th, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Cotati.
