1942 - 2016

DAMOS, Sharon Elizabeth Died quietly and peacefully at her home in Guerneville, CA after recent health complications on the evening of Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the young age of 74. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Manuel; daughter and caregiver, Angela (Jon) Damos-Deurloo of Guerneville; son, Matthew (Tanya) Damos of Santa Rosa; five grandchildren, Kenny, James (Anna), Nathan (Melissa), Jessica, and Max; and two great-grandchildren, Austin and James. Sharon is also survived by her sister, Janice (Paul) Stenger of Calistoga; brother, Phil (Gerry) Faylor of Oregon; and numerous nephew, nieces and cousins. Mom was born on April 16, 1942 to the late Fred and Elizabeth Faylor, also of Guerneville. She was a descendent of two pioneer Sonoma County families, the Sharps and the Walkers. She had a great love for the history and art of the river area and considered herself an original River Rat. She was most happy when at home on the family property gardening and tending to her orchard. By day, she was an avid sports fan. Scanning channels and studying the sports page of the Press Democrat; golf and Tiger Woods being one of her favorites. In the evening you could always find her watering or weeding while waiting for her ducks to come in to be fed and locked up for the night. Sharon loved and fed all creatures big and small on the ranch-wild turkeys came to her call, while skunks and foxes waited their turn to be fed after her cat. But, her most prized and favorite was the hundred or more humming birds she fed from her porch religiously. She loved to watch them stream back and forth to feed from the mulberry tree just outside her house. Mom had recently retired from her long standing job of close to thirty years as a Pharmacy Tech at Lark Drugs, also in Guerneville. She was committed to her customers and loved her work family dearly. She was hard working and fair, quick witted and strong-minded-her friends and family of most importance. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service, with lunch to follow, Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the family home on Sweetwater Springs Road in Guerneville.
