Steven Stockham Obituary

Steven Grant Stockham Sr.
April 6, 1946 - August 31, 2024
On August 31, 2024, the Lord called our beloved Steve home after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at his home in Cloverdale with family members at his side.

Steve was born on April 6, 1946 in Healdsburg to parents Darrell and Alice Stockham, and was raised on his Grandparents, Hugh and Ruth Stockham's ranch in Geyserville. Graduating from Geyserville High School in 1964, he was a member of the Band, playing sousaphone, and an outstanding athlete. His love for music stayed with him throughout his life, and his excellent bass voice could rumble the walls of the building especially when singing the old and loved hymns.

For the majority of Steve's life, he was a "Transportation Engineer" mostly in the lumber industry, and finished his working career as a Truck Driver and Crane Operator at the Geothermal field at the Geysers.

Steve loved the Lord and was a Deacon and member of the Living Water Church in Cloverdale. He was an avid gardener, always sharing the fruits of his labor with others, and an excellent cook. He delighted in preparing food for family, friends and his Church family who all enjoyed his special and hearty creations.

Steve is survived by Johanna, his wife of 28 years, Sons: Steve Jr., Bob, Jon (Monica) and Trinidad, and 9 Grandchildren. Also survived by his Brother, Dee (Patty) Stockham and numerous family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and beloved daughter-in-law, Caty.

Private family interment will be at the Olive Hill Cemetery in Geyserville. A Celebration of a Life Well Lived will be held at the Geyserville Oriental Community Hall (Grange Hall) on October 5, 2024, from 12-3. Lunch will be served and will include Steve's favorite foods. Come join the family and share your Steve stories with us all.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Steve's name to his favorite charity, Samaritan's Purse, at www.samaritanspurse.com or by calling them at 1-800-665-2843, or a charity of your choice.

"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear." Over and out, Good Buddy.....Till we meet again.
