Teresa Fisher Obituary

Teresa "Terri" Lynn Fisher
Teresa Lynn Fisher, 63, of Santa Rosa, CA, died on August 2nd, 2025 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Terri was born in Burbank, CA in 1962 to Roger and Suzan Honzik. The family moved to Sonoma County soon thereafter, where Terri spent the rest of her life. She adopted a life motto from her father, Roger, and lived it to the fullest: work hard, love nature, and be kind.
Terri worked hard to support herself and her family. After attending Ursuline High School, Terri worked for Safeway for 39 years. She was known to be helpful, great with numbers, and the "Queen" of the booth. Upon retiring from Safeway in 2020, Terri began a job as an accountant with the County of Sonoma in the Office of the Clerk-Recorder-Assessor. She worked there happily with her supportive colleagues until her illness required her to take a step back.
Yet Terri did not let her strong work ethic get in the way of spending quality time with friends and family. From outings with her beloved book club and sister trips across the US, to family crepe breakfasts and "Waffle Sundays," Terri put in the work needed to cultivate deep, meaningful relationships. Her love for learning about history and art enriched travels with family across the US and Europe, and provided a means of connecting to others through her warm, present curiosity.
Terri's love of nature was evident in how she spent her free time. Her childhood was filled with camping and backpacking trips, as well as summers spent at Redwood Adventure Camp (formerly Camp St. Michael). She then provided those same experiences to her own children, camping and backpacking in the Trinity Alps and Armstrong Woods. She even volunteered at Redwood Adventure Camp while her grown sons were on staff, giving back to the outdoor community that she loved amongst the coastal Mendocino redwoods.
Terri was frequently found walking the trails of Sonoma County, making the most of her Regional Parks Pass. She loved Shiloh Ranch Park, Foothill Park, and Riverfront Park, and knew every trail like the back of her own hand. Even at work, Terri kept a comfortable pair of walking shoes under her desk so that she could get in a brisk walk outside during her lunch breaks. The Van Gogh prints in her home mirror the flowers and landscapes that she loved to discover, explore, and appreciate in her walking.
Above all, Terri was kind. She always found a way to stay positive through every challenge. Terri was slyly hilarious, and could make anyone laugh, even as she soundly defeated them in word games. She could recite poems and lines from books and movies from memory to provide a new perspective on any situation. She always showed up for her family and friends, no matter where in the world they were. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and somehow an even better grandmother. She will be sorely missed.
Terri was preceded in death by her father Roger. She is survived by her husband Darrold, her stepdaughters Jessica and Vanessa, her son Scott and wife Jenna, her son Benjamin and husband Brent, her son John and wife Carie, and her granddaughters Brielle, Danica, and Kennedy.
She is also survived by her mother Sue and her siblings Christine (François) Piccin, Martin (Janet) Honzik, Kathy Honzik, Maureen (Richard) Michel, Margaret (Rick) Jacobson, and Gerard Honzik.
Donations to the Providence Hospice Foundation of Sonoma County in Terri's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.

What a sad terrible loss. My condolences go out to the whole family. I worked with Terri for a number of years at Safeway. Towards the end of my 42 years there I worked up front with the public in the check stands. She was always available with an answer to a question. She was on it! Great sense of humor always a smile, well mostly, that front end can be challenging. I felt secure knowing she was in the booth and had my back. I was very sad to hear she had passed. Her light will be missed here but I´m sure will glow bright on the other side.

I remember Terri and the sense of fun she had. She was my "big sister" at Ursuline my freshman year and was a very sweet person. I am sending my prayers and sympathy to the whole family.
