Todd WEMMER Obituary

WEMMER, Todd Todd Wemmer (43), beloved father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend, was born on January 15, 1975 in Sonoma, California. He died unexpectedly doing what he loved on Saturday, May 26th, 2018 in Mt. Shasta. He is preceded by his father, Ronald Ray and mother, Caryle Wemmer. He is survived by wife, Kristal Wemmer, daughter Maliya Wemmer, son Malakai Wemmer, sister April Davidson and niece Summer Davidson. Todd's love for the outdoors showed no limits. He was an avid hiker, mountain biker, climber, backpacker and snowboarder, which prompted his move from Santa Rosa to Mount Shasta over 20 years ago. This move also made possible the meeting of his true love, his beautiful wife Kristal. Todd summed up his love for his wife last year with the following: "Where would I be without you? You're my true love, my ride or die, my beautiful wife. Thank you for tolerating and inspiring me, it sure doesn't feel like 21 years ago when I look at you. You're as beautiful as the day I met you." Friends and family would all agree that Todd's laugh and sense of humor were unparalleled. In school, he was often the mischievous class clown but even his teachers had a hard time staying upset with him due to his good nature and infectious smile. Todd was known for sticking up for those who otherwise could not. If he was your friend, you most certainly had a friend for life. Anyone who was lucky enough to know Todd also knows he was always willing to lend a hand. He began his public service career with the US Forest Service as a wildland firefighter. He later went to medic school and worked as a paramedic on both ground ambulances as well as air rescue services. After much experience helping others, Todd saw the need for more EMS support in the wildland firefighting scene and cofounded Mountain Medics, his true calling. "Courage. Courage to speak up despite persecution or harm; courage to do what's right. Regardless of opinions of people (not people pleasers). Courage to step in and help regardless of risk. Courage to be transparent, regardless of how it's perceived; courage to show their faith, convictions and trust...despite being disliked or rejected...the world needs courageous people...I am eternally thankful for those in my life that have true courage that does right...thank you! You know who you are." - Todd Wemmer, October 26th, 2017. A celebration of life service will be Saturday, June 16th at the First Baptist Church, 812 Lassen Lane, Mt. Shasta at 5 p.m. Afterwards, a procession will lead guests to the Iron Horse Venue, 138 Big Canyon Drive, Mt. Shasta where family and friends can get together from 6 to 9 p.m. If you happen to see a crow fly by or watching over, give it a smile and know that Todd is flying free and watching over his family. He will forever be loved.

The loss of a loved one is painful and it will be hard at times trying to express to others how you really feel. Those who love you understand and will be by you to help you through this most difficult time. (Proverbs 17:17)
