Tony Castorena Obituary

In San Francisco, Tony Lopez Castorena, born September 19, 1932, lived most of his life in Sonoma, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2009 after a long battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Tony was a hard working man; he worked in construction after serving several years working for the railroad. Though he was retired from construction, he continued working on projects using his hands and his heart until the day he passed. He is survived by his daughter, Carmen Mercedes Castorena O'Keefe; his beloved grandson Conor Arthur O'Keefe; his brother Daniel (Emily); sisters Isabelle Siler (Jimmy), Josephine Long (Don), Helen Erickson (Dave) and many loved nieces and nephews. Tony lived his last seven years with his daughter in San Francisco; he will now be laid to rest in Sonoma "the best place on Earth". Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 12:00 noon at Duggan's Mission Chapel, 525 West Napa Street, Sonoma. Interment will follow the service at St. Francis Cemetery, 505 East Napa Street, Sonoma, CA 95476. Donations in Tony's memory preferred to Catholic Charities CYO, 180 Howard Street, Suite 100, SF CA 94105. Arrangements under the direction of DUGGAN'S MISSION CHAPEL, MISSION CREMATION SERVICE, 525 West Napa Street, Sonoma, CA 95476.
