Walter Roy Webb passed away peacefully in the morning of July 23, 2021. He was a proud Navy Man, enlisting for service to his country on July 20, 1950. He received an accommodation on August 6, 1953. Walt's squadron was engaged in support of the United Nations' activities against hostile North Korean forces. He was honorably discharged on July 15, 1955, at the rank of Aviation Ordnanceman, Second Class.
Walt was born on December 9, 1931, to William Ruben Webb and Mary Dale Webb in Douglas, Arizona. Walt was a fantastic storyteller, and his tales of childhood adventures rivaled Huck Finn. Walt made his way to Sonoma County after the Navy and worked for decades and eventually retired from the California Co-Op Creamery in Petaluma. Shortly after retirement, when gardening and caring for his chickens was not enough to keep him busy, Walt began a new career with Quest Diagnostics. He brightened the days of medical offices across the county until he finally retired at the age of 83. Walt enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was a gentleman and married his great love, Margine, in 1967.
Margine passed away peacefully just nine months after her beloved Walt, on April 18, 2022. Margine spent much of her life in service to her community and was honored by the Petaluma Soroptimist's Club as Woman of the Year for her work in establishing the Petaluma Girl's Club. She was born on December 17, 1935, to Ralph Elihu Clark and Margine Inez Clark in Muskegon, Michigan. She moved to California with her family and after graduating from Petaluma High, began working at the phone company. Later, Margine worked as a dental assistant and bookkeeper. After retirement, Margine spent many happy years raising, training, and competing with her Webbfoot Kennels' award-winning Chesapeake Bay Retrievers.
Margine and Walt will be greatly missed. Walt and Margine were predeceased by Walt's sister, Mildred Hall, and Margine's brother, Ralph "Daniel" Clark. They are survived by Margine's brother, Bruce Clark, their children, Sharon Burke, Kip Webb, Carol Van Hoozer and Kerrie Webb, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private celebration of their lives along their beloved Rogue River this summer. In honor of their memory, donations may be made to Canine Companions, an organization close to their hearts.
