Wanda Louise BREWER-RAMSEY

BREWER-RAMSEY, Wanda Louise Passed away on December 7, 2014, in Oceano, CA at the age of 89. She was born to Kate and John Ragsdale on January 26, 1925. In her youth, Wanda's first job was as a true "Rosie the Riveter" working on ships during World War II. She then became a fashion model. Later she was a hostess on Matson Cruise lines, and worked for many years in retail eventually owning her own shop, Beyond the Reef. Her hobbies included cooking, hosting dinner parties and painting. She is preceded in death by her four sisters, Edith, Violet, Bernice and Ruby, and her husband Bob Ramsey. Wanda was the proud matriarch of five generations. She is survived by her only child Virginia Taylor and her four children: Tom and his wife Robin Parrish and their four children, Josh Parrish, Amy Parrish and her son TJ, Nick and his wife Nikki Parrish and their sons Brody and Jett, and Madison Parrish; Sherrill Stockton and her three children, Roger and his wife Heather Stockton and their sons Luke and Zak, Elizabeth and Ryan Stockton; Jeff and his wife Alice Parrish and their three children, Ben and his wife Amanda Parrish and their daughter Meiah, Anthony and Michelle Parrish; Ambre Parrish and her four children Lacey Soto and her daughter Lilly, Sidney Gallegos, Max Gallegos and Phoenix Parrish; and niece and nephews Dennis and his wife Pam Langwell and Don English. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Peter Thom and Enos and Carolina Patacsil of La Serena for their compassionate care. The family will be holding a private celebration of Wanda's life at a later date. Donations in Wanda's name can be made to the American Heart Association. To quote one of Wanda's many long-time friends upon hearing of Wanda's death, "She lived her life with Gusto - she quit having fun, so she left." She will be truly missed but never forgotten.
