Windee WIDENER

WIDENER, Windee (Wood) Windee Widener passed July 19, 2015 at a care facility in San Francisco at the young age of 63 after a very long and battled illness. Windee was born in Sacramento, CA August 17, 1951 to Berdell and Barbara Wood (Johnson). On April 2, 1972, at 20 years old, Windee married her one and only husband, Philip Widener. She would have had the wedding date on April 1st/April Fool's Day if she had her way but Phillip didn't find that too funny. They met thru a pen pal program when he served in the Vietnam War. They went on to raise three sons together and lived in Santa Rosa ever since. Philip preceded her in death in 2002 due to complication of "Agent Orange" from serving in the War. After that she became involved with a veterans widows group where they had gatherings and dance nights. She loved going out dancing and had many friends. She always looked out for others and lent a helping hand when she could. Windee is survived by her mother, Barbara Roberts (Oregon); sister, Carolyn (Oregon); brothers, Berdell (Idaho), Randy (Sacramento); numerous other relatives and friends; and of course, her three sons, Brian (New York), Jesse (Oregon), and Kenny (Santa Rosa). We love and miss you Mom but we know you are in a better place! A celebration of Windee's life will be held August 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Santa Rosa Memorial Park. 1900 Franklin Avenue, Santa Rosa CA 95404. All are welcome.
